Every month people who work in the environmental field meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks.
There is a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business and it's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organising network.
These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. It's a force for the good and they'd like to help it spread to other cities.
Contact your local node to get the latest info about joining in. There are over 732 local Green Drinks chapters worldwide.

...the original Friendship Without Borders was started many years ago by Prince Albert of Monaco?
Prince Albert founded what was then known as Amitié Sans Frontières as a means of breaking down cultural barriers and creating a sort of a "mini-united nations" of a social club. He wanted to offer people the chance to meet others from all over the world, attend interesting social and cultural events all the while supporting various social and environmental causes. So a portion of the proceeds would always get donated to various charities.
Amitié, as it’s intimately known by its original members, then spread across the world and opened branches in most major cities.
We wanted to introduce a taste of that experience to Boston, but also allow the idea to grow in new directions, both in the range of activities offered as well as the scope of its reach in the age of the internet by also allowing for online profiles and social networking in addition to our in-person events.
So let's help our mini-united nations of Boston expand its global coverage and grow to its full potential by introducing your friends, colleagues and acquaintances to our site and to the whole concept!
